I'm also happy to assist with referrals for great tradespeople. Over the years I've made lots of contacts and enlisted the services of tilesetters, carpenters, hardwood floor people, and others. And anyone I refer has either performed top-notch work for me, my clients, or other agents whom I know and trust. Flakey, incompetent contractors reflect poorly on whomsoever referred them so I do not refer lightly.
I also know some wonderful architects - architects who have studied Old World and historic-type buildings, understand the importance of proper 'massing' and scale, know what went where and why, and can design and incorporate renovations and additions that enhance while remaining faithful to the original architecture. The value of 'charm & character' truly cannot be understated in either monetary or historic terms in a neighborhood such as Eagle Rock. Generally speaking, and as long as the major systems such as plumbing and electrical have been updated, a character-filled home with a classic, period kitchen and bath will sell for many thousands more (as much as 50%!) than a 'remuddled' home of similar counts of bedrooms, baths, square footage, and lot size. Really.
